We propose you some selected tours offered by our well-known local tour-operator, Iguana Mama. 1. Bike Adventure - 3,000 ft Downhill Cruise  

An exhilarating day of fun.  Live an ecological adventure through the interior of the Dominican Republic on a mountain bike.  A chance to get out of the heat and into the heart of the country.  After breakfast at the summit of the Cibao Valley, cycle down valleys in the world.  Sample exotic fruits and learn about Dominican culture and vegetation as we bike through Dominican villages.  After diving into the river Jamao, we make our way up to the hidden Blue Moon Inn for an exquisite pool side East Indian lunch (only for full-day).  

2. Cascading adventure: 27 waterfalls of Damajagua

Behind the sugar cane fields of Puerto Plata and into the hills, join us for an intense climb up the 27 waterfalls of Damajagua.  A labyrinth of tunnels, caves and natural pools leads us through a virtual fairy tale land of beauty.  Sliding and jumping down is just as much fun.  Although this is a non-technical climb, this is a physically demanding hike for the upper body, as well as the lower. Swimmers only, please.  

3. White Water Rafting in Jarabacoa  

Thrilling !!! - A superb adventure on the Rio Yaque del Norte in Jarabacoa.  During this tour you have the opportunity to explore many river rapids from quiet serene sections all the way up to level four rapids, while encountering the fantastic scenery of the "Dominican Alps".  Experience jumping from the "El Cerrazo" rock and swimming through the "Crocodile" rapids.  Approximate length: 13 kms. Rated Class III at I to VI Class Scale.  

4. Family Adventure - Islabon Coast Cruise  

Combine a boat trip down the Yasica river with an easy 10 km bike ride along the coast.  This is an extremely informative bike tour, where beginners, families and bird lovers will have a chance to learn about the Dominican coastal vegetation and daily fishing life.  A must for all families.

Enjoy the beautiful beaches of Puerto Plata and the Bay of Sosua, relaxing and soaking up sun rays while sailing the Atlantic Ocean. Have an opportunity to experience the colorful marine life and fauna of the North Coast in the Dominican Republic, as we know it. A full day adventure!  

6. Seaescape Paradise: Full-day excursion to Rio San Juan. mangroves and GriGri Lagoon

Discover white sandy beaches and colorful undersea gardens and coral reefs offering a delicate balance of beauty, serenity and life. Cruise thru the mangrove trees and discover pristine beaches, sheltered bays and coves. Enjoy a fun filled day of snorkeling, cruising, swimming, swimming and relaxing in one the most sought-after locations, yet currently unspoiled by tourism. Glistening crystal blue and turquoise clear water and coral reefs where creatures of all colors, shapes and sizes co-exit in harmony. 

7. Whale Watching in Samaná (from 15 January to 15 March)  

Travel with us to beautiful Samana where between 10,000-12,000 Humpback whales journey from as far away as Greenland to mate and calve. The trips includes 3 ½ hours on board the “Victoria II” with internationally recognized marine specialist Kim Beddall in the waters of Samana Bay, the entrance to the Marine Sanctuary, and educational nature hike in the foothills above Samana and a visit to the Whale Museum which features a 45 ft humpback skeleton.  An experience you will never forget!!!

8. National Park El Choco Hike

Check out one of the newest national parks in the country.  An incredible 77 square kms of jungle, lagoon, caves, forest and open backcountry to explore.  
Can there be a better way to learn the Spanish names of various plants, trees and fruits than through smelling, touching, climbing and tasting the real and natural thing? And what about discovering and swimming in a natural cave? Snacks included.

9. Mountain biking for expert riders  

Cabarete area is a paradise for the biker. Ride through protected National Park and enjoy the astonishing views. There are rides for any level.

12. Canyoning in Cordillera Septentrional
                          
Stimulate all your senses. There are rope assisted absells as high as 300 feet and challenging jumps up to 70 feet into deep pools of crystal clear water, waterslides and fantastic swims in a gorgeous tropical landscape. There are 6 different canyons for all levels.

If you are a certified diver, you cannot miss the coral reefs of the North Coast. There are exciting dives in Sosua Bay and Rio San Juan. If you are an experienced diver, try the astonishing Cabrera Cavern Dive.
