Good: location, friendly staff Bad: The house was poorly maintained. It was not very clean when we arrived, however Virginia came to clean the next day after we asked. The hot water didn't work. We requested help right away, but despite many techs coming, the problem wasn't resolved. The last day, someone came and managed to get hot water to work in just one bathroom, but It turns out all the pipes need to be cleaned or maybe replaced by a plumber. Understandably not something they could resolve during our stay but something they should have known before renting the house out. At the end of our stay it rained quite hard and there turned out to be a number of water leaks in the house, leaving large puddles in the kitchen and dining area and around the stairs. Again something that could have been avoided with proper maintenance on the house. Maria tried to work with us and ultimately reimbursed us for part of the stay. Much appreciated! But the house is not fit to rent as listed.

they took so long to respond. the pool was very dirty and cloudy. when I booked the place, it said a hot tube, and there was no hot tube. The grill had an empty propane tank. you need a lighter to turn on the stove, which I was not told till I asked. we wanted to hang out on the patio, but the string lights did not work. I did appreciate that she took care of the problems and she did take awhile to answer my questions at first till I told her how I felt about everything then she started to respond faster and she also sent people to clean the house Two times that we were there I do appreciate that but overall I give it a 5 out of 10 if you were more descriptive about your place I wouldn't have been so upset..

We had a good experience at this house. initially, we had a lot of small issues, but the host sent over a helper to answer all of our concerns, and everything was great afterward. The house was a short cab ride to town and not far from the airport. Next trip I may rent some form of personal transportation in order to cut down on unnecessary taxi expenses. Avg about 500 DOP each way per taxi. Master bedroom is on the first floor. I would definitely stay here again.

We were robbed on our first day of checking in! Ladies and gentlemen, it happened between the hours of 1:30 and 3:00 PM (Afternoon). Sosua Ocean Village (SOV) Security was useless and initially refused to cooperate with the police investigation. To add insult to injury, SOV Security lied to me and said that they called the police; only to find after four hours of waiting that the call never occurred. After a couple of days, we (police & myself) were granted access to view the SOV video footage. Only to find during our review that the most critical camera stopped working during the EXACT hours that the burglary occurred. Coincidentally, it started started working again upon our arrival 🤣🤣🤣🤣! I would be remiss if I didn’t note, there were no signs of forced entry. Why? Because the maids and everyone else was aware that the back door leading to the pool did not lock! Therefore, we rented a house that was not secure to begin with and it was obviously known by the burglars. Luckily, that was repaired after the burglary and I have a video of the repair taking place. The worst part of this experience is being made to feel like you are the criminal instead of the victim. The rental agents actually had the audacity to question if we even had the items to begin with! 🤣 Trust me, as a former US Under Secretary in charge of Economic Development for the United States, I’m not going to lie about missing electronics! 🤣 Do yourselves a favor and book with someone else until Security is improved/replaced and a process is in place for you to be compensated for your losses. This is a very ugly process and the way Sosua Ocean Village and the leasing agents are acting is even uglier. Save yourselves time, aggravation and find someplace else!

I stayed at the villa for a week and this has been my best stay thus far in Sosua. Villa is located in Oceans Village and is a short drive to the center of Sosua. Villa is very clean, modern and stylish with modern amenities. There is a jacuzzi and numerous places to sit outside and relax. Peggy was very responsive and answered all questions quickly. The cleaning ladies were equally excellent. The area is very quiet which benefited me greatly as I was working while at the villa. I’ll definitely stay again. Book it, you won’t regret it.

We stayed for 9 days in this incredible house!! Cleaning crew kept the house immaculate. Relatively quiet neighborhood. I think we may have been the loud ones up until 10pm. Jesus was the chef that prepared meals for us everyday. That man can't miss!!! Fresh, hot meals everyday!! He cooked meals from land, air and sea!! Delicious! Jesus also served as our personal concierge. He helped us get to the bank, arrange massages, pedicures, etc. The man is a beast!!

I am a frequent traveler and have been a loyal customer of AirBnB for many years because I appreciate your emphasis on value and excellent service. Yet a recent stay at at the listing Hosted by Peggy Kiousis of Caribbean Dream Vacations for Villa 30 Sosua Ocean Village in Sosúa, Dominican Republic has caused me and my family some major concerns along with disappointment. I stayed in Villa 30, Sosúa Ocean Village, from Saturday, December 12, 2020 through Saturday, January 9, 2021. Our stay was filled with several issues or amenities not provided, all which should have been communicated before we paid the $7277.43, which had cancellation policy of minus the first 30 days. This might have been the first sign that I missed since it was the longest cancellation period of all of my previous AirBnB reservations. When we arrived, no one met us at the house. This is something that I was used to with most if not all of the previous stays I booked. We decided to walk around the house and noticed the first-floor master bathroom shower door was missing. While we have traveled many times in European countries where showers are designed with a no doors concept, this one did not seem right since the missing door is in the middle directly under the rain shower head. The fact that the hinges seem removed and holes in the glass where they once were signs that the door was purposely removed. We decided that this is not going to ruin our month long stay and decided to go out and enjoy the town of Cabarete, as we have for the past 6 years. After a long day traveling and enjoying Cabarete we slept through the next afternoon (this will later hurt us because of the AirBnB 24 hours resolution policy), the next day we were getting in the pool and noticed the condition of the pool decks and sun decks were filled with moss like algae. I decided to ask the grounds keeper to help me clean it. After inspecting the upstairs deck, it appears that areas of the pool and furniture were just not well maintained. When we went to start the shower in the master bathroom there was no hot water. We did not know then but this started what would be a nine days episode of no hot water when tried to shower and the water heater issues where seven of the next nine days, we had to call our host’s husband to come and reset the water heater before he got frustrated with coming every morning to reset our hot water heater and replaced it. During the episode with the water heater, it rained several times and we found leaks in the ceiling in various places and over the dining room table where the family eats dinner. We contacted our host Peggy and she send her husband Alex over to look at the leaks. Alex was aware of the leaks and said the owner needed to make the repairs. After a couple days of communicating with Alex and Peggy, Alex promised to get the leaks repaired. Fast forward, they were never repaired. I complained to the Peggy through AirBnB messaging and she ask us to use What’s App mobile application to communicate with her and her husband for any issues. When we were promised to get the leaks fixed and nothing happen, we returned to the AirBnB Messaging system and documented all the issues. I communicated multiple issues to the host and her husband: lights coming on in the middle of the night, Roaches (water bugs) found in the kitchen, Ants and Fleas on the patio furniture all our host did was send her husband with pest spray and deflected to maybe we did something wrong that the lights were coming on. Keep a mind that there is a remote-controlled system connected to the Internet Router. So, the lights can be control remotely. Throughout our stay to the host did not provide many of the amenities that were in the listing such as: bathroom tissue, soap, shampoo, cable TV and cleaning lady had to use grocery bags as garbage bags. Additionally, the cleaning service was supposed be 3 times a week however that was not provided either, only 1 of the 4 weeks did she come 3 days and other 3 weeks it was 2 days only. Now keep in mind we have no shower door which is a problem with a rainfall shower which wet a large portion of the floor and sometimes flooded. This is not what was advertised and we expected from a home that was called a Luxury Villa and cost over $7000. To add insult to injury, they want to charge for electricity. This home is home/villa is co trolled by smart home system called SwitchBee. There were lights and pool pumps the run automatically which is controlled by someone other than the person renting. We notified Peggy of the issues with the lights coming on automatically throughout the night and this problem was never addressed. There were also lights switches and fans that didn’t work. We expressed our concerns that either someone was controlling the lights remotely or there was an electrical problem, either way it was extremely problematic and we were unable to rest or feel comfortable. We were noticed our check-out time was 11AM on Saturday, 1/9/2021. At approximately 9:30AM there was a knock at the door and it was Peggy. My fiancé asked if we missed something in a communication because we were surprised she was there. She asked if she could exchange the SOV card they provided with another, she said she needed it for another client. After giving her the card, she then said the cleaning ladies were there to clean the house. My fiancé wanted to make sure we hadn’t missed something and asked what time was check-out? She confirmed 11, so My fiancé asked why they were there at

We were robbed!
We were burglarized in broad daylight and made to feel like criminals by our rental agents and security at Sosua Ocean Village. I would highly recommend that you find somewhere else to stay and work with another leasing organization. Once we notified security at Sosua Ocean Village that we were robbed, they came to the house and conducted a preliminary investigation only to say, “we are going to turn this matter over to the police.” After four (4) hours of waiting for the police to arrive, I called myself only to learn that Sosua Ocean Village Security NEVER called the police to investigate. To add insult to injury, Sosua Ocean Village initially refused to cooperate with the investigation and allow the police to review the video footage of the house. Once the police were finally granted access a few days later, the footage between the hours of 1:30-3:00 pm (burglary occurred) mysteriously disappeared. Sosua Ocean Village security reported that the camera stopped working when I left the villa and started working again when I returned. 🤣 The next step of the investigation was to get the information from the owners camera which could not be obtained until days later and I have yet to view that footage. With that being said, I firmly believe that the robbery was an inside job and I would never stay there again or recommend any of my friends, family or social media follows to stay there either.
