We spent the first half of our vaca at an all-inclusive resort in Playa Dorada. In contrast, this property in Sosua (bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, etc) was much larger and better appointed, and the beach was nicer (cleaner, no seaweed, gentler waves). And more restful. Easy walking distance to several great restaurants. The only downside is that the trail down to the beach requires a bit of agility (steps on rocks going down about 25 feet), which was a problem for one person in our group.

Excellent location and beautiful views. The apartment has almost everything you need, just missing a dishwasher. Furnishings were beautiful and beds were comfy. Extra towels and access to cleaning and laundry supplies were a plus. Highly recommend!

Pros: Los Balconies is awesome place conveniently located in Sosua. Alicia beach is steps away. Sosua beach is 7 minutes walk. Walking distance to supermarket and restaurants. security guys are there 24/7 and very helpful with questions. Very responsive management! locals are very friendly and trying to help. if you know few Spanish words it helps a lot. Cons: Sosua is very congested with traffic and all locals are driving crazy on scooters, but if you don't drive - not a problem. I used to drive there comfortably in 2 days. Also there are locals gathering in the center of the town at night. Makes you feel uncomfortable at first, but they are not bothering you at all. I think it's relatively safe, but usual precautions - not to look for troubles after durk... Overall: very nice experience and looking forward to come again!

We had a great stay! The location is absolutely amazing. The view from the balcony is breathtaking. The pool is 2 minutes' walk and the beach is just a few more minutes' walk. The ocean water is crystal clear and the sand is beautiful. The walk across the sand at mid-day is super hot so plan accordingly! The apartment feels very spacious--far more so than the photos suggest. Everything was very clean. The beds were comfortable and the A/C worked great. There were a few broken or worn out items in the apartment (and at the pool), but the overall aesthetic and level of comfort was still great. Communication with hosts was decent though sometimes responses were delayed. The beach toys were a great addition--our kids loved playing with them. Security was very nice and helpful, and we felt very safe during our stay. We would definitely come back!

Wow, the place I stayed at was simply stunning and had plenty of room! The view was breathtaking, as it was located right on the beach with a pool that overlooked the ocean. The abundance of natural light allowed for picturesque sunrises and sunsets. Additionally, it was conveniently located within walking distance of everything I needed. The cleaning service even came a few times during my stay. I highly recommend this place!

We always return to los balcones. It’s the place to stay in Sosúa. We’ve been traveling to DR for 15 years and we often end up here - most of all cause of the beautiful views and also case it’s been family friendly. This time - unfortunately- we did experience some unfortunate activities in some of the apartments. Now it seemed to be openly guest/lady friendly”. The kids swimming in the pool could see the different ladies coming and going every day. We know these activities happens a lot in Sosúa, but it has been very discrete in this building earlier. Anyways - this apartment is lovely and everything functions as it should. We would love to stay here again. The host uses days to answer easy questions though.

I absolutely loved this condo. Exactly as shown, super comfortable, 3 min walk to the beach, super peaceful. The 24/7 security is great, very helpful. There's lots of restaurants close by in walking distance. Can't wait to return!

Zero complaints, what a great place. The pool/hot tub and ocean are right at your fingertips and it was easy to move back and forth between the two. Playa Alicia is great, never crowded. Everything you need within walking distance, safe. The balcony has an incredible view thats hard to take your eyes away from. The space itself was excellent, very spacious and great for a small family or a small group of friends.

If you want to explore around Puerto Plata, prefer a slightly more local experience, want a spectacular and private ocean view, book this place! We are a family of four (with 2 kids under the age of 6) for a week and it was fantastic! We felt safe with the 24 hr security and gated community, the view from the balcony is AMAZING, the rooms and kitchen are spacious and very clean, and walking distance to restaurants and grocery stores. A quick walk to Playa Sosua also, the water was calmer for my kids at Playa Sosua versus Playa Alicia. Beach toys were available in the condo too, and umbrellas and beach chairs are available to rent at the beach. We watched the sunset from the balcony or the beach everyday. Loved the experience! Only suggestion I’d have for the host to provide a list of good local restaurant and excursions recommendations.

El sitio ideal! El apartamento es precioso, mejor si cabe que en las fotos; súper limpio, organizado y bien equipado; la vista es espectacular, súper tranquilo y silencioso. La playa está Justo al lado y se accede desde la propiedad. Tuvimos un día de playa increíble en el que todos nos pudimos bañar en una playa tranquila y transparente; al día siguiente la playa estaba súper agitada y con olas enormes que no permitían bañarse, un espectáculo visual y sonoro; ese día disfrutamos de la piscina con las vistas al mar. El sitio perfecto para compartir en familia. Definitivamente volveremos!

Man betritt als erstes den langen Gang und sieht direkt zum Balkon, der eine spektakuläre Sicht zum Meer hat. Es hat schon fast etwas Dramaturgisches je weiter man in die Wohnung läuft. Es sind aber auch die Details, die überzeugen. Beispielsweise hat es im Badezimmer eine kleine aufziehbare Wäscheleine, Moskitonetze bei den Fenstern, USB-Aufladestationen, elegante Plissees an allen Fenstern, schöne Kordel die die Vorhänge halten, Brettspiele für Spielabende, Sandspielzeug, Bademantel und so weiter und so fort. Wir waren mit einem Kleinkind und einem Baby dort. Es haben sich alle sehr wohl gefühlt. Sollten wir wieder nach Sosúa reisen, machen wir auf sicher hier wieder einen Stopp!

The view is breathtaking. The beach feels like your own private beach and the pool though shared, was never crowded. We loved how close everything was. Highly recommend Margot, they deliver for those days you don’t want to walk into town. The market is a few blocks away and has a lot to offer. We can’t wait to book again and get the view of the endless ocean, beach and pool all in one shot.

Clean, convenient, and the pics do not do the view justice. It's breathtaking and I spent as many hours on the balcony as anywhere else in town. A+ location with easy access to the chill part of Alicia Beach, 5 minute walk to food and the main strip, and about 5 minute walk to the livelier Sosua Beach. Check in/Check-out could not have been easier. Host was responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend I will definitely be back soon.

El apartamento sencillamente es perfecto! La propiedad es tal cual la ves en fotos, pero aún mucho mejor, sabía que tenía buena vista, pero es espectacular dese el balcón. Tiene todas las comodidades y facilidades, tanto en cocina, habitaciones y entretenimiento. El acceso a la playa desde la zona del jardín del complejo te lleva a la parte más privada de Playa Alicia en 5 minutos caminando, lejos de la parte más visitada pero lo bastante cerca para ir a comer o tomar algo por ahí. En los alrededores hay restaurantes, bares y comercios para comprar lo que necesites, en nuestro caso no salimos, pero si de querer te puedes ir caminando, la zona siempre la vi segura y el complejo tiene vigilante todo el tiempo. Durante nuestra estadía sólo habían algunos apartamentos contiguos ocupados, todo súper tranquilo, la piscina prácticamente vacía todo el tiempo, mucha privacidad y los demás huéspedes muy amables. Desde ahora es una mis opciones favoritas en Airbnb y totalmente recomendado. Gracias a la host que debido a un problema de vuelos cancelados nos permitió modificar las fechas de la reserva sin problema alguno. La comunicación siempre fue rápida y amable.

Unit 2A at Los Balcones is absolutely astounding. The view, the space, the bedding, the water pressure, the kitchen amenities, the pool, the beach access -- perfecto! I searched and searched for a condo with two bedrooms and three beds (for myself, my son and his friend) and was surprised at how tough it was to find. This unit was ideal. I had my own private suite and the teenagers had their own bathroom as well. Washer/dryer was critical mid-week. Comfortable furniture indoors and on the balcony. Communication was quick and easy - although I really did not need anything once I arrived. Playa Alicia is stunning, but do be prepared for sizable waves. A short walk to Sosua Beach is the spot to go for easier swimming and snorkeling right off the beach to a reef. The price I paid was a bit steep for the DR, but well worth every penny. I did notice, however, that the price has since increased by almost $40 per night... Such a lovely location to spend with family and friends.

Highly recommend! The VIEW is amazing. The WiFi is great. Smart TV in the main bedroom and the living room. Having the pool and beach access was a dream. The apt is beautifully appointed as you can see from the pictures. The beds and pillows are quality and they had plenty of towels. This host welcomed us with plenty of potable water and was very responsive before check in.
